The Jurai Jalur Gemilang design is shaped like a Jalur Gemilang flag coupled with the Malaysian national flower hibiscus.The ceremony was graced with the presence of students from 18 primary schools and secondary schools taking part. Ceremony concluded with the handing over the Jalur Gemilang flag to the school principal as a symbol of the spirit of independence.

The Launch of JPN "Semarak Merdeka"
Friday, 20 August 2010.The launch of JPN "Semarak Merdeka" was held in Jabatan Pelajaran Perlis square. The launching ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Mat Rawi Kassim (Member of The Council Meeting Perlis State Government). The main agenda today is to release the design of Jurai Jalur Gemilang from the top of the Jabatan Pelajaran Perlis building by the participants of the ICT Unit in collaboration with the Department of Co-Curricular Unit. The Jurai Jalur Gemilang has been produced by the 18 schools selected from across the state of Perlis.
